HI-TECH AIR PURIFICATION
HIDDEN INSIDE A LAMP
In 2020, the Word Health Organization confirmed that SARS-CoV-2 can be transmitted by respiratory droplets as small as <5μm in diameter. These are prevalent in indoor settings, such restaurants and bars.
Some form of air purification is recommended, but a commercial-grade air purifier, big enough to treat the air in the average restaurant, is enormous – not an attractive proposition at all.
The solution is PuraLamp: advanced air purification hidden inside an Italian-designed table lamp. Clean air at every table.
Want to know how it works? Read on …
THE THREE STEPS OF PURIFICATION
1.
Contaminated air is drawn into the dome of the lamp by an extractor fan located in the base. Because of its circular design, PuraLamp extracts impurities at 360° – perfect for a restaurant table.
2.
The air is then forced into an advanced H13 HEPA filter. These state-of-the-art filters trap 99.95% of particles, inhibiting the reproduction of microbial species as small as 0.3 microns. The purified air then travels down the core of the lamp.
3.
The secret of our HEPA filters lies in their antimicrobial coating, which has been scientifically demonstrated to deactivate a broad range of pathogens, including Staphilococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and SARS-CoV-2.
Once the air has been purified, it is expelled through the slots at the base of the lamp at 360°.
NOT ALL HEPA FILTERS ARE THE SAME
What makes our HEPA filters so efficient
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air (Filter). It can be thought of as a pleated air filter, composed of thin glass fibres.
Our H13 HEPA filters are classified according to standards EN 1822 and ISO 29463, and have proven effective at trapping airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns.
Unlike most HEPA filters, though, they don’t just trap bacteria and viruses; they deactivate them. In fact, they are coated with an antimicrobial solution that has been scientifically proven by the University of Ferrara to inhibit the reproduction of 99.95% of airborne pathogens, including SARS-CoV-19.
And they can purify a volume of 15 m³ per hour – more than enough for a table in a busy restaurant or a bar.
WHAT PuraLamp FILTERS
Contaminants, such as bacteria and viruses, are 2 – 3 times higher indoors. And as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, customers are increasingly conscious that they pose a serious threat to their health. But PuraLamp gives them the confidence they need for the hospitality industry to recover from the pandemic.
Here some of the contaminants its HEPA filters trap…
Bacteria
For example: Staphilococcus aureus, Escherichia coli
Viruses
For example: SARS-CoV-2
Mould & Fungi
For example: Candida albicans
Exhaust Fumes
From open doors and/or windows
Dust Particles
From human skin
Pollen
From flowers and plants, open doors and/or windows
Hair & Dandruff
From humans
Pet Odours & Allergens
From dogs, cats and other domestic animals
Cooking Odours
From kitchens in restaurants, bars and hotels
PROVEN RESULTS
Scientific tests conducted by the University of Ferrara on our antimicrobial treated HEPA filters demonstrate their ability to deactivate – after just 5 minutes contact – 1 x of 10^9 cfu/ml of a microbial pool consisting of the following:
- Staphilococcus aureus
ATCC 6538 - Escherichia coli
ATCC 10536 - Pseudomonas aeuriginosa
ATCC 15442 - Enterococcus hirae
ATCC 10541 - Candida albicans
ATCC 1023

The results of these experiments show – in all cases – that the treated filters completely inhibit the growth of environmental microbial species when subjected to a continuous flow of ambient air for periods of 30-60 days.
